FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF A SHARED STUDIO IN BROOKLYN

A photo story of our first official collection.

IT'S A WORM WORLD

This collection was first made in my former bedroom in Bedstuy, Brooklyn, NY. I used clay, resin, and glass beads.

It started as an exploration with new materials and colors.

Focusing on the abstract- a need to press on clay, to sculpt it without any direction.

Later on stars were sculpted with more intention. Then back again to pressing found or donated objects onto clay.

All in all, it was the beginning of a journey in making objects, jewelry in this first installment, that seemed to be from "another planet" or "piece of a planet" so to speak.

It became an ode to childishness and daydreaming while riding the subway, grasping onto memories of a busy New York. Like everyone else, the pandemic resulted on bursts of nostalgia. These inspired my making process.

*This collection was developed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
